NOMADA is a non-profit organization recognized under 501(c)3 section and created by professionals in a proactive, innovative and socially responsible manner, unite their knowledge and experience to educate Latino families on Prevention of Domestic Violence and Family Conflict Management and Resolution through an evidence-based program (practices proven to be effective).
Having the appropriate knowledge available, Latino families may more easily overcome obstacles that prevent them from establishing healthy family relations and procuring the corresponding legal, financial, literary and health assistance.

Belitza Contreras-DeLeon · Founder and President
She is Venezuelan lawyer graduated in 1984 from University of Carabobo, Venezuela and a self'-advocate of Domestic Violence. She holds certificates in Mediation,Negotiation and other methods of conflict resolution from Southeastern University,FL,Central Technology University and World Federation of United Nations Associations in Valencia, Venezuela and CMII in Harvard University,MA. She is certified as a professional in Domestic Violence by the State of Illinois. Since 2010 provides ongoing training on prevention of domestic violence and family conflict resolution to Spanish-speaking families in diverse churches and other organizations in IL. A lifelong and dedicated volunteer,Mrs Contreras-DeLeon has spent time working with different organizations as Family Shelter Service, National Housing Law Project and Loaves and Fishes among others to better reach their Hispanic clients and also for the Rotary Club and the Comission of Ciudades Hermanas in Naperville,IL to benefit girls and women in Pátzcuaro,México.
Mrs Contreras-DeLeon has been honored by the State of Carabobo,Venezuela´s Bar Association for her professionalism, Capacity and Strict Adherence to Legal Ethics and was also awarded for Legal Information to prevent child abuse. In 2013 was awarded by the organization ¨Gift of Hope¨ as a Heroine for Hope. She is the author of the book ¨Violencia Doméstica a la Latina¨ .

She is a colombian journalist graduated from the Autonomous University of the Caribe and is a Magister in Organizational Communication and Human Resources. She is the co-founder of Con.Ciencia, an organization focused on educational communication and research projects. She is the founder and president of Chicago Latino TV and a member of the Latino Advisory Council of the Organization Gift of Hope in IL.

She is a venezuelan journalist graduated from the University of Zulia, licensed in Social Communication, Publicity and Public Relations. Editor of the newspapers ¨Lazo Cultural¨, ¨Muskegon¨and ¨El Vocero Hispano¨ in Grand Rapids, MI. She holds a Associate in Criminal Justice from Grand Rapids Community College.Her primary interest is ¨working with Latino adolescents to positively impact their lives¨.
